    Managed decline

This is the state this club is in. Players not interested before January so off they went - to be replaced by loanees who are even less concerned whether we go up,down or sideways. Marc Antoine Fortune continues to start every game yet has contributed to this shambles of a season with 2 goals. Nothing but papering over the cracks every week in Jonathan Jackson's programme column and how we are still in profit. What are the aims of this club? I think this plight is engineered and as long as the books balance then WAFC heirarchy don't seem to be bothered what league we are in.

    re: Managed decline

the premier league parachute payments will keep things ticking over for the next couple of seasons hence everything is rosy financially. But once that tap runs dry then the landscape will be very different, especially so if the tics are in the lower leagues.

I am expecting the youth and academy systems to be heavily utilised by GC beginning next season if only at the request of DS in order to save transfer/salary money and justify the heavily funded training facilities.
