Its not real Zil, corre is fictional
For several decades my beloved old mum has been a devoted fan of Coronation Street and her favourite was always Deidre Barlow.
Over the years mum wrote to Deidre and always received a warm reply and a signed photograph. They corresponded on a regular basis, so much so that mum came to regard Deidre as a very close friend.
Each time I visited mum she would tell me that she hadn't seen her favourite on screen for a great many months. I never watch ITV and therefore could never give her a satisfactory answer.
Yesterday I saw on the internet that Deidre's funeral was about to be screened. Reading on, I discovered that Deidre Barlow died in January of this year. Naturally I told my mum and after she had shed a great many tears she asked me, as she and Deidre were very close, why she hadn't been invited to the Deidre's
funeral.
Of course, since the Royal Mail was given away, or rather privatised, their service has sunk to an all-time low. Consequently, mum's invite could have been lost

Well I've been there and sat in the Rovers Return.
You need to read this board more carefully Zil. Her death was covered on here at the time in the usual RIP thread.
Quite right Jolly.
And GM, I hope you aren't suggesting that mum is thick in any way or that she can't tell fact from fiction.
Otherwise you have just made yourself a new enemy.
CAM, I hope you're not implying that everyone can or should read every post printed on this MB.
Surely that would be a clear sign of insanity.
That's the burden us moderators are saddled with I'm afraid.
Anyway, you didn't have to read the post, just the title said it all - RIP Deirdre - surely there has only ever been one?
I can't see that written anywhere in the contract CAMOriginally Posted by CAMiller
