I've stood on more terraces watching absolute garbage since I was 8. In that whole time I can recall a few decent (ish) teams. More relegations than promotions. Hence I find all this moaning about Rovers do pretty well in the Championship under almost impossible circumstances, strange beyond belief. Maybe I'm just lucky and fortunate to see 'actual problems' ones worth moaning about. Instead the fans go and carry on supporting the team, knowing most of the time they lose

Im glad youre laughing champs ,that makes a change...dont want you boycotting the board again numbers are down

Your aloofness comes through again...you seem to think you re the only one thats "done" football before the Premier League and are a leading light on lower league football. Please ..dont be so patronizing.

Im sure your well up on lower league goings on but in

Following the Rovers in the very early 80s there was no worse places than standing on the terraces at Ewood and the grounds to be visited.(and even worse for the older generation who supported the club earlier than that!)And as for watching garbage ..we still are !

Yep that's me, circa early 60's
I know all about accepting 'failure and mediocrity'.
That's why the JW era was such a buzz (the ups and downs of football eh).
But for old heads like me it was 'savoured while it lasted', as it was never going to be a continual ride.
Having said that, as Champs points out, it also brought about a new wave of supporter that got brought up on success, and therefore when the success dried up, so did their 'appetite'.
It happens at every club !!!

Success in itself can be a bit of a poison chalice, unless you just enjoy the moment, and then settle back under the return to 'normal service'.

What makes our situation so bad to accept is the stark comparison of what we were dealt by JW and then the

Some really good points on this thread
the youngsters coming through are a real good batch if played
Raya has the potential to be a top top goalkeeper lenihan is looking to be a decent prospect along with o Sullivan all need to be nurtured sensibly but not forgotten
As champs rightfully said the fans also need to give them a chance at their young age you can expect some patchy performances
Good performances praise poor performances encourage.

Regarding the lad Perkins i do believe hes to sign for Wigan.

Another thought that crossed my mind regarding the youngsters and their lack of game time last season could simply be to work around the embargo thats come into force.

If ive read the rules correctly (and probably have nt !) we re allowed a squad of 24 players who are termed "established" ,21years and over who have made 5 or more starts in the first team.By not playing the youngsters towards the end of the season (who would then be termed established ), we ve managed to have kept open as many places in that 24 player squad for more dare i say "experienced players" and still have the option to play the youngsters this season who didnt qualify for the squad ?

BTW fair play Champs..not here to fall out

    Aye, same here pal

I think you may be onto something there aswell re the young players and the allowance of what they deem 'established' players. To me it was very s
