    Average attendance.

    I will start by saying, I like statistics and use them a great deal. Mainly through my interest in Athletics. I thought I would look at our average attendance over this season. After all, our near neighbours from Sandwell, keep taking every opportunity to inform our supporters about what a small club we are.

    Bearing in mind, that we are at this point in time, only a Championsip club, playing other Championship clubs, we have averaged 22072 spectators for each home game. Also factored into that figure is the sometimes poor away support from visiting teams.

    Our friends from Sandwell, playing in the Premiership, this season have an average home gate of 25081. A much higher average, however, those numbers will be swelled by away teams bringing greater support..

    Our biggest gate was 28132 against Blackpool whilst Albions was 26768 against Leicester. Our smallest, on a wet windswept Tuesday evening against Middlesborough, was 17744, while Albion had a crowd of 23516 against Swansea.

    re: Average attendance.

    There are two points that stand out here:

    1) Comparing most recent Premier League seasons even in free-fall we are a more attractive club to watch, with more loyal supporters than our neighbours;

    2) When taking into account visiting supporters, obviously: the Club and the City of Wolverhampton, the Mol and the style of our football, offer a more welcoming, true footie environment!
