    James Fowler young guns

This season a success! and even in the so called big games our youngsters have been given valuable game time.
Aiden Smith, Jake Pickard, Scott Hooper, Jim Atkinson, Patrick Slattery, Dean Smith all lads when asked upon have proved they are more than capable.
I think of previous managers who were unlikely to give youth players a chance, but Fowler takes in most of the development games and certainly promotes from within.

I do hope these lads get a chance with either QOSFC next year or even sent to Stranraer or Annan for even more 1st team football if they are offered and sign deals.
The development team has helped even Lewis Kidd this year prove just how versatile he can be.
All in all not many Managers work on their own and have so much success.

I agree with much of your post, although Pat Slattery never quite managed to cut the mustard with QOS. He has done very well at Queens Park and I can only hope that that experience will have developed him as a player. As a natural left sided player, he can replace Holt or move into midfield and his fitness is second to none, - so here's hoping that he is up to the task.

I was amazed yesterday when Fowler replaced Durnan for Beany, - which could have been catastrophic and reminded me of our gung-ho finale in Copenhagen. However the tactic worked brilliantly and when young Aiden Smith came on to stretch the Rangers defence you saw the panic in their ranks which resulted in Moshni being brought on for Miller I think.

If the game had gone on much longer Queens would have drawn level and taken the tie to extra time.

How many other managers would have adopted Fowler's tactics? Not many I guess, but he should be applauded for his belief in his players yesterday and for a fantastic firs

I agree with some of the above, the exception being Pat Slattery who I can't remember getting any game time with the first team [I could be wrong].

It was good to see him going out on

Noticed Pat Slattery is on the PFA available players list, has he been released?
