    Derek Lyle

    What a real professional.

I really did not know what to expect when he re-joined us for Div. 2.

Perhaps someone just playing out the last year or two of their career and on the wind-down and that maybe last season would have seen him depart.

Far from it, he has improved season upon season and is a fine example to the younger players regarding committment and fitness.

I can think of some 'sitters' he has missed but the quality of his goals, particularly this season, has been superb.

The strikes in successive matches against Rangers and Falkirk were of the highest quality and went a long way to clinching our place in the top four. The sight of him nodding in two against Rangers in the play-offs, to bring us back into the tie on both occasions, was great too.

    Keep it up Del !

Queens legend and wants to play for the shirt. He knows where the goal is but...taking nothing away from him we do lose some work rate up front due to the legs. Its sometimes like playing one up front with Reilly running himself into the ground but Lyle bagging the sitters.
If we could bring in another striker I think super sub would be better suited or 3 up front.

Fantastic player for us. Delighted he is with us for another year. Crucial we have "legs" up front with him.

Would Nicky Clark have the appropriate "legs" ?
