I'm just wondering, is there a football forum version of a bunny boiler?
I'll leave you to fight it out with '55 and troch to claim the Most Obsessed crown.
We're doing an A-Z of Albion atm. We're on E and this is under
ELEVEN POINT BOTTLERS
They may not have been a team for the purists.
But the West Bromwich Albion of 2001/02 knew how to do drama.
With only eight games of the season left, they stood 11 points behind bitter local rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers, who occupied the second automatic promotion spot – but turned things around in a barnstorming finish to the campaign.
It was a wet dream for Albion fans, a nightmare for the old gold.
And it was all the sweeter for being so unexpected.
Context
Albion at the start of the new millennium were emerging from the most traumatic decade in their history, with humiliation on the pitch, and stagnation off it.
Wolves, in contrast, had enjoyed tens of millions of investment from chairman and ‘golden tit’ Sir Jack Hayward, who rebuilt both ground and team – though fell short of elevating them to the Premier League.
The seed of Albion’s recovery was planted on Christmas Eve 1999, when

Fair play that is quite disturbing!I wonder if they remember they reckon they could have won 'The Double' in '54.Originally Posted by Newcy Wolf

When the gypo's talk about the past it's because of their prestigious history.
Anyway, what happened in '54?
Did anyone else win the league and if they did, what was to blame for sandwell not winning it?
The worst winter in living memory? No, that was '79.
Fixture pile up? No, that was '79 also.
Errm,
Too many international call ups? Not enough international call ups?
God knows.
What was the damned reason Wolves won the title that year?
Some things are just so unfair.
What I can't understand is they never celebrate the time they actually won the damn thing.
Once.
In 1920.
It would be fantastic if just for once, they would enlighten us all with tales of 1920.
The great world class players of the time, silent movies, the gramophone, the Charleston maybe.
They should be very proud.

Tell you what though I was at Hillsborough for our last game of the season when we must have took 10,000 plus and on the final whistle when we realised they would go up instead of us I can quite categorically say it was one of the most depressing days of my Wolves supporting life!
I'm surprised those on the sandwell mad board managed to get past A,B and C. It's good to read an article that almost replicates someone else's words. - view external link
Good shout, never thought of that.
What happens when they get to "J" and they run out of fingers to count?
Sorry, that should read "L".
They tend to have more fingers than us.
"J" Now that is a difficult one.Originally Posted by Newcy Wolf

"L" must be for losers.
I've told you before the reason I pick on Wolves is you are such a BIG easy target. And you insist on making it easier and easier to find things to poke fun at.
A bit of fun is all it is really guys.

Very strange behaviour.
