Loan bid turned down for Pritchard

Tottenham reject Derby bid for midfielder

Tottenham have reportedly turned down a loan bid from Derby County for midfielder Alex Pritchard.

The Championship outfit are keen to bring in some extra bodies in the middle of the park following the news that Will Hughes has been ruled out for around six months with a cruciate ligament injury, but their bid for the England Under-21 international has been rebuffed.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino believes the 22-year-old could play a significant role for the North London outfit this season, with a number of fixtures ahead as they once again take part in the Europa League.

Pritchard made 47 appearances in all competitions on loan at County’s Championship rivals Brentford last term, scoring 12 goals and picking up seven assists.

The club are being pro-active and that's to be commended - they could easily have said we've spent enough, we'll go with what we've got and no one could really complain.

A shame that. He would of been a cracking signing. He looked good at the ipro last season. Stood out a mile. Oh well we move on..

We will not give up on it that easy not with.MM,SR involved.

Daniel levy the spurs chairmen is so money orientated we will prob have to just offer a bit of cash for the loan.

Glad we are looking at the right calibre of player though for a change .
