In well over 50 years of watching Motherwell, Joe Wark remains my personal lifetime top legendary player.
The ultimate one club professional sportsman and gentleman as well as being the best uncapped left back of my time.
Taken too soon and I pass my sincere condolences to Joe's family.

I am glad I am old enough to have seen him play. Not only was his timing of the tackle impeccable, but he had this uncanny knack of being able to judge the high ball and whether the attacker was going to get it or not. You would see him sometimes take a few steps back, the attacker would jump and miss the ball and there was Joe in exactly the right place to collect it. The best left back I have ever seen at Fir Park. A great player and a great man. RIP Joe.

He was before my time but I've heard all about him over the years. The word 'legend' is used far too often but with over 500 appearances for the club over 17 years it can certainly be applied to Joe Wark.

Rest in Peace.
