Yep money plays it part but without a shadow of doubt a proper infrastructure is the key to success look at Iceland look at Belgium those teams had this all in place about 15 years ago and now more so Belgium are reaping the rewards with a host of world class players.

Within one day of our national team failure we had this Henry Mcleish banging on how he wants to change this and change that to make us great again we have done this far far to often. We should be banging on the doors of Alex Ferguson about proper youth systems guys like this filter it now 10 or so years we might have a chance.

We fail and cant wait to change every aspect of our football which is wrong we have talent we have facilities.

We have and will always have the problem if living in the shadows of the so called best league in the world. They pay massive wages and have massive TV deals. I think having guys like Henry mcleish involved is all well and good but it's guys like Ferguson moyes Strachan we need. So much competition to football in this country now. Once ranger and hibs make it back to the spl on there own accord I would definitely look at a restructuring of the leagues. 18 team top league would definitely be my preference. Winter shut down would also have to be looked at. Difficult as winter varies so much. Times have changed since I was lad. My choice of intertainment was football or football. I chose football. My son's choices are now do varied. Football authorities have got an almighty task on their hands to turn things around.. not sure if they have the balls to succeed.
