Exactly. Jacobs could run a mile in 10 seconds but he would still be as useless at right back.
While fitness might be a valid point being tactically inept is the biggest problem.

This season was always going to be tough after the loss of so many decent players but you'd have expected better than what we've been served up so far.
Fowler is still young & has so much to learn as a manager but unfortunately for him most fans don't have much patience . Alloa on Saturday is a massive fixture for him and the club . Lose this and the board may have a bid decision to make

Thinking about the discussion (not for the first time) about the alleged hours that our full - time squad train I wonder
if it is down to finance and Broadwood is hired out on, say, an hourly basis and Queens can only afford to be there
    for a short time.?

A friend of mine quite often trains alongside the Queens players in the gym facilities at Broadwood which is open to members of the public

Before we go too far on the critical side of things it maybe is time to reflect on what we do have instead of what we don't at present . The Board have done a magnificent job of balancing the books and still delivering full time football on our poor crowds . No mean feat in itself as we should never forget this . As for the training , the exact same argument popped up a couple of years back when we were going through another bad spell and the conclusion then was that 1.5 to 2 hours was quite normal . The reason a team like rangers will storm this league is - apart from the huge financial difference - they also prepare like champions in double or triple training sessions . Whether our guys would do this on £500 a week or whatever is another story. One thing for sure is that the Glasgow/ Central players have had it far too easy for too long . Playing for a Dumfries side hasn't been a problem for them as they only have to come here once a fortnight and breeze the short trip to Cumbernauld

Even the central belt players will probably spend an hour or so commuting due to the extra traffic.

Whether a player is on £500 or £5000 they should have the desire to be the best they possibly can be.

Wee Dan Carmichael used to put in a days training then do his own optional extras and then he even trained for the Bustin a Gut challenge on top of that!

Most sports performers think nothing of doing a double split training regime at the beginning and end of a full working day, - so there is simply no excuse for our full timers not to put in more quality training time.

They're doing the same amount of training this year as they did the previous two when we finished in a play-off spot

What's the point of a play off spot if you don't get promoted? Unless we finish 2nd the chance of getting through all the games is slim.

Exactly - There were also some similar comments about our training methods when results under Jim McIntyre
were not going our way. Last year's team had the heart and soul ripped out of it and Fowler had the heartless task of rebuilding the team so we must stand by the man and suggesting that the players are unfit due to lack of proper training is a bit harsh.

We have been in similar situations in the past and I 'm sure given support Fowler and his team will prevail.

You can stick your head in the sand if you want but what is going to change?

Heard the same stuff under Gus, if only we could cut out the individual errors, we aren't getting humped, well that time has come getting pounded at home from teams below us.

Maybe Fowler isn't ready to be a manager at this level.
