    re: Emergency measures

And I look forward to seeing Mr. Fowlers comments Admin.

If he even attempts to try and say that his players are able to pass the ball properly and have been giving 100% then there will be many who will give up going to Palmy.

I watched the 17's last night and their effort was superb, - many of them having already played part of a game at the 3-0 defeat of Airdrie. Their passing was crisp, their first touch was on the whole excellent and their pace and energy was incredible.

Queen of the South will never be up there with the Rangers and Celtic's of the Scottish scene, but the fans do deserve to be given 100% by the players, - and if they do that then we can't ask for any more. Derek Lyle gives his all in every game, but the same cannot be said of some of the other players, - and surely in his mid thirties, Lyle should not be expected to be playing a full 90 minutes?

I trust that Mr. Fowler is fully aware of the knowledge, experience and depth of passion for QOS from t

    re: Emergency measures

Deek, my thoughts are the same they were two or three years ago when the subject was brought up. I said a mixture of training in Dumfries and Glasgow/ Cumbernauld was my idea of the best solution. This would share the burden of travelling amongst the whole squad . It would be a cakewalk for the Glesca lot to come here two times a week ( 1.5 hours). That instead of Dumfries boys going up there 4 times a week and 5 if away game on Saturday. And yes I know the facilities up there are top notch but I have had a look at our home form and a little something in my head says that this team should be getting more familiar with THEIR own surface . Thoughts on this ?

Yup agreed. I have played on palmerston a few times and it is totaly different from others surfaces. Last season the team were brilliant on there own surfaces which gave us an advantage. I have a feeling its got more to do with just the surface though. We need to do somthing about our home form quickly. Im just glad we had a good start to the season and got a few points

    re: Emergency measures

In a ideal world training would be in Dumfries JR but has been mentioned by previous managers over the years, we would struggle to attract players if this was in place.

Again if we look to the last few seasons, training times, trainng location, central belt players, our artificial surface etc etc is all never a issue when we are doing well. It's just when ever we have a bad season this old chestnut crops up.

IMO our current plight is just a simple case of a average squad steered by a rookie manager who's lack of experience is showing through.

    re: Emergency measures

Admin, I have just had time to read it and would wholeheartedly agree.

I hope to God the team get the result on Saturday that they desperately need, but I would add that emergency measures are required for a number of weeks to lift the players psychologically to cope with stresses of playing at this level.

Excellent response from the manager. Let's hope that it gets a reaction from the whole squad. It's good to see that the management read this forum.
