Good effort by the team to come back after a wonder strike put Alloa ahead in the first minute. After that, despite hitting the post in the second half and creating another couple of decent chances when they were pressing for an equaliser, they didn't threaten much.
I wasn't surprised the manager made so many changes. Most were good ones IMO. Brownlie did OK, Russell was very effective and Kidd had a decent game too. Heffernan was subbed in the second half but I felt he hadn't offered a huge amount. Oliver struggled a bit being stuck on the right wing but took his goals well. I thought Hutton had a decent game.
Generally Queens were below par in the first half with slow backward and square passing in front of a packed Alloa defence. In the second half Queens played at a faster tempo and put Alloa under a decent amount of pressure. Conroy came on as a sub and had a decent impact.
Important result and some positives after last week!
A huge well done to all the players and to Fowler for grafting out a victory at Alloa today.
Has the corner been turned? - probably not, and "one swallow does not a summer maketh," -but a few more honest, hard working performances like this one and the tide will begin to turn.
It is imperative that the team concentrates on the basics and work ethic and I'm sure the results will follow.
It's worth noting that Livingston have definitely turned a corner with another sparkling win over Raith Rovers.

And it did indeed turn out to be a real game of two halves! We played some great stuff after the break. Looked like a team which we didn't in the first. Hopefully this will galvanise the team a bit. Couldn't help notice a fair amount of bickering amongst the players, including Kidd and Brownlie and again Kidd with someone else. Hopefully not a long term thing.
I fear for us if anything happens to Del. He was instrumental in both goals. A great player for Queens.
