Hope this can be sorted out, singing and supporting the side is what we all want. As has been said as long as it does not involve anti social behaviour or pyros then what is the problem.

Really disappointed to hear this happened again at the weekend .
We witnessed it ourselves several times last season when the Police or stewards stood directly in front or behind the group who are trying to create some sort of atmosphere at Palmerston . It's very antagonising and no wonder they sometimes get an angry reaction
Why can't they just leave them alone and let them enjoy themselves ?

Really hope the club & Police Scotland can get together and come to some sort of compromise

Yes, I would hope the club can seek clarification off the Police to find out exactly what their aims are on a Saturday match day. As far as I know, there were a spate of bans last season for bringing bangers/ pyros into the ground last season and that's fair enough . There is little enough of the towns youngsters coming without scaring off those that do . The ****agers today are tomorrow's father's and the actions today will have an effect in the future if they don't bring their offspring to the games . The cyle of locals attending then gets broken down and thats a dangerous path to go down for our clubs future .Us middle age and older codgers are not going to be around forever and there has to be an encouragement to all ages of Doonhamers to support Queens . Let's get this sorted now and have them back on the terraces with minimal harassment .

i think its prob too late now ,palmy is destined to be a ghost town ,whats been needed is all the fans showing unity and showing discouragment to the police ,it said it all to me on saturday when the police done what thay did ,how many fans shouted out there disapproval ,and stepped in to help sort them out,no unity is the answer to that ,palmy will continue to be like a morgue until the fans get together to sort this .

This whole situation could have been dealt with a lot better from the outset.These young lads or ultras as they are commonly know are part and parcel of most Scottish league clubs including smaller supported clubs like Montrose and East Stirling .Its pretty obvious that since a load of them have been banned and constant intimidation by police and stewards there numbers have dwindled from about 60 on some occasions to about 10 recently hence the reason the atmosphere at Palmerston has been non existent recently.With the Queens support ageing it is ***** that the club and fellow Queens fans do their upmost to encourage the younger generation.
We have one of the biggest terraces in the uk which is virtually empty every home game why can the club not fence of an area for these young lads (like they do elsewhere in Europe) let them keep their flags and banners up there all the time even let them brighten up the paintwork with some of their logos (as long as they are not offensive).Make th

Maybe the answer to the issue of creating noise and unity whilst also preventing trouble making could be the creation of a fan's group, along the lines of the trust but with the sole purpose of bringing noise to Palmerston? This would allow for any trouble makers to be known to fellow fans and policed internally, preventing things escalating into police involvement and dwindling attendances. Could also encourage more young folk to come along if their pals join as it could lead to a feeling of togetherness, making noise and supporting the mighty south

One such fan's group did exist complete with their own website and this site even got them sponsors for flags etc. The group eventually fragmented and the flags disappeared.
