Texaco Cup - 45 years ago 'Well beat Spurs

Those of us lucky enough to remember that night have a treasured memory. That was an impressive Tottenham team. - view external link

My programme from that night is framed and up on the wall. 'All muck and nettles' was Martin Peters' comment about us, I think. We scored five times over the two legs; there was more to it than muck and nettles, Martin

One of my favourite ever games. What a crowd and atmosphere at Fir Park that night.

    Oh what a night!
    Early November back in 70
Brian, Tom and Bobby had us in ecstasy
Super Well, oh what a night!

25,000 crowd, Spurs 2nd top of league, all first team regulars except Hancock for Jennings in goal, 4-2 ahead on aggregate early on, were left floundering by a stunning Well display I will never forget.
Did Spurs take it seriously? You bet they did! The sight of legendary manager Bill Nicholson running up and down the touchline trying to rally his troops proved that beyond doubt.

One of my all time top 5 Well games attended.

It was a great night atmosphere was superb and Spurs looked shell shocked at the end of the game. To bad there does not seem to be any video of that great night.

Sadly, I do remember it - am getting old!
A great night. Would love to see video highlights but, as mentioned above, doubt if there are any.
