    Spirited, dominant cup performance

Fairly dominant Arbroath showing in dreadful conditions at Central Park, in front of a bouncing away support. We seemed to have control but failed to put away a succession of good chances second half. Cowden stole an equaliser + came close late - view external link

Before the game started would have been happy with a draw but we missed a great chance today to be in the next round. We passed up a hatful of chances which I hope don't come back to haunt us in the replay but could have just as easily been out with the coo hitting the bar in the closing stages. Both sets of players deserve a huge pat on the back for serving up a keenly contested tie in what was some of the worst conditions I have ever seen a match played in.

We had them beat for 70 minutes, but they did have a spirited 20 minutes with a goal and hitting the bar.

A reply at Gayfield on Saturday sets things up brilliantly, but means the Berwick game will be now a midweek game, which may work in our favour too.

Credit to both set of players for serving up a good game in horrendous conditions.
Every AFC player was excellent but Ricky Little was superb.
If we natural "sniffer" like Shagger McManus or Dibble McGlashan we would have won yesterday's game 4-1, my only worry is when we are on top we struggle to kill off the opposition.
Superb support yesterday with the 200+ Red Lichties making a great atmosphere.

    C'mon the Red Lichties.

Strong and committed showing. Thought Watson did well in front of the defence - I think the holding midfielder has left our defence a bit exposed most of the season. Lowdon played really well too but not convinced he's a natural fullback. And, as mentioned, we need to convert more of the chances we create or we'll always struggle
