Using the Cowndenbeath games as a sample it is clear that the "one up front striker" certainly in the case of Grehan is a total failure.
In the first leg the conditions forced us to play on the ground and if we had taken just one of the many chances created ( Linn*3. Rutherford*1) we would be in for a great payday. We were by far the better team apart for a 15 minute spell just after we scored.
I'm not a fan of the one up front but at least Rutherford has some movement and could be used as a target man if someone played off him.
Now to the replay. In the first half we were abysmal but managed to go in just 3 down after a Linn strike.
For the first 20 mins of the second half we scored one, hit the post at least once and created other chances - then we made our first substitution Grehan for Rutherford and spent the remaining part of the game hitting long balls which were gratefully mopped up by the big slow Cowdenbeath centre half.
We created 0 chances after this change.
