keep feeding the mushrooms eh
1.Take one quite small but good football club, with a team that just avoided relegation.
2.Take away your entire back 5 (3 back to parent loan clubs, one allowed to leave at end of contract and one missing with a ridiculously ott suspension).
3.Replace it with a sprinkling of journeymen, crocks and players that are n't good enough.
4.Then ensure your top goal scorer completely goes out of form.
5.Once your team is finally finding some form, gently remove the most successful manager the club has ever had, but remember not to tell your loyal fans why.
6.Install a largely untested manager, but ignore a better one just sacked for no good reason from your biggest local rival.
7.Keep giving your still loyal fans occasional scraps of hope with the odd decent performance.
8. Slag off the previous manager when things get tough.
9. Repeat number 7.
Only a bit of fun! Merry Christmas everyone!

You can add all the ingredients you like but the most important one for success is sadly missing.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ (Sorry - I don't have a pound sign)
And that's the bottom line. We can all blame poor recruitment, although many were happy with the summer signings, the issue is getting better quality to want to sign permanently because let's face it if any other club in our league is interested they go elsewhere. Last year we stayed up on the back of the loan players and Derbyshire scoring in the 2nd half of the season.
There's no way on earth we will suddenly start signing top class players in Jan. Redfearn will need to unearth some gems - but it's easier said than done as we've seen with his signings so far
Grafters that's what Redfearn will sign
You mean a bit like Steve Evans used to?Originally Posted by andy_miller72
My point is at this level it's very difficult to do, Evans did find some gems, newell probably being the last of them, he also then had to use the loan market for added quality. Loaning young kids generally hasn't worked for either of them.
Do you think we'll have the cash to sign a proven quality champ player playing regularly? If so you may be disappointed in January
Leeds seem to have got the better of the management exchange by a country mile !!!
A bit early to say really, both could be meeting again in the dole office
Leeds have a manager with a proven track record who's been successful pretty much everywhere he's been
Weve a guy with no track record and little experience of managing anyone other than kids. So far he's struggling
