The only people who benefit are re companies who manufacture weapons and they get the chance to see if any new weapons work right. If there wasn't oil in the Middle East nobody would be bothered.
The Taliban are now back gaining the ascendancy after nearly a decade of futile fighting. 460 British lives lost and now we are considering sending a few soldiers back to help out the Afghan army.
Can anyone on the site say that going to Afghanistan was the right thing to do?
If so what have been the successes of the campaign?

David Cameron 'UK troops can come home from Afghanistan knowing it was mission accomplished'. What a liar! UK troops came home because the British public had seen too many brave soldiers returning in coffins without being able to comprehend why we were there. It was patently obvious to everyone that the Taliban would return to reclaim lost territory once foreign troops departed. Another overseas campaign that cost so many lives and achieved absolutely nothing.
