It is indeed. But I have better things to complain about than an airport logo. For example, why do people say Xmas instead of Christmas?

Should be called Nottingham Airport anyway imo...it's the nearest big city whether we in Derby like it or not and potential passengers from abroad have no idea what 'East Midlands' means. Totally embarrassing, some folk really need to grow up.
I must admit it is all a bit daft but actually Derby is the nearest city and not Nottingham, all distances on the globe are as the crow flies but in these days as the aeroplane flies.

East Mids to Derby is 14.44km to Notts its 18.85km and Leicester its 25.21km[/quote]

To take that argument to it's logical conclusion then Manchester airport should be called Altrincham or Macclesfield. The only function of an airport is to allow visitors, who haven't got a clue what 'East Midl

Why not call it Derby, Leicester & Nottingham airport? It would probably get abrieviated to DLN airport.

Done, everyone will be happy and foreigners will know where it is then.

This petition is simply trying to make a point. Derby County, a local business, bought advertising space to advertise their business in the departures hall (I think) at our local airport. The advertising campaign has posters in many other locations. It appears that it has been taken down after complaints from other fans. That is where 'PATHETIC AND EMBARRASSING' comes into this. Derby fans are simply making a statement as it seems the airport has said it wants to treat all 3 cities the same. So I take it they can no longer advertise any business from any one city? I think not.

Agree about the initial action Ramsall but you don't overcome 'Pathetic and Embarassing' actions by becoming, well...'pathetic and embarrassing'. Let's also be clear...it's not 'Derby fans'...its a few hundred of the thirty odd thousand with nothing better to do.
