    RIP Roy Swinbourne.

    Wolves hero Royston Harry 'Roy' Swinbourne passed away yesterday 27 December 2015 at the age of 86, following a long battle with vascular dementia.

    Roy Swinbourne playing for Wolves in the 1-0 win against Cardiff City at Molineux on 23 August 1952.


    Roy Swinbourne scored 114 goals in 230 appearances for Wolves. His contribution of 24 goals helped Wolves to their first ever League title in 1953-54 and his two goals in the 3-2 defeat of Honved are legendary.

    He played one England 'B' International against Germany in 1955, scoring in the 1-1 draw.

    A bit before my time [yes, it is possible] but I can remember my did lauding his performances many times.
