The Ref had an absolute stinker, he was so far out his depth. He bottled it when Crawford took out Lasley. You can be sure as s*** if it was the other way round it would have been a different outcome. Saying that we threw the game away by defending to deep in the latter stages which makes it all the more frustrating as Accies are absolute tosh.

The defending too deep seems to be in our DNA not just under McGhee but just about every time we go into the last 10 mins with a one goal lead we all move back to edge of our 18 yard box. Instead of playing it out of defence and holding onto the ball we blooter it everywhere, skywards, out the park, you it. All it does is constantly hand possession back to our opponents. If they have the ball they can score. We rarely if ever have the type of defence that tactic is suited too because we gift goals at the best of times never mind trying to hold the line at the end.

In almost every even game - and even a fair few that are not - teams defending a single goal lead drop deeper in the closing stages. It's partly psychological and partly practical but I seriously doubt we're significantly worse than others at doing this.

Where it got ridiculous was under McCall when we could frequently give up playing at the 55-60 minute mark to try to see it out, regardless of the fact we often succeeded.
