Interesting piece on BBC East Midlands on why despite spending big Derby won't fall foul of FFP.

If I might paraphtase, 'It's cos we a big club init'..or words to that effect. Also to do with spreading fees over the length of the contract and (her words) Derby have the biggest revenue in the League.

If only Billy hadn't ripped out the heart of your club, someone might have been left to advise Mr Fawaz.

    So, it';s all about envy?
Play by the rules blah blah
Derby are pure and innocent blah blah
You deserve to be punished for cheating blah blah

Then I come across a thread like this.
Favourite quote has to be, "if you can't beat them, join them"

Wow, just wow! Where is this bitterness coming from? We are only a few miles down the road but it appears we have never been so far apart.
Look here are the facts as I see them. Both clubs got sugar daddies, both with the best interests of the respective clubs at heart.
Derby was a well run club already with debts under control, Mel has/is on a spending splurge but through accountancy measures 'appears' at this point to be steering clear of breaching FFP.
Fawaz took over Forest following Doughty (RIP) who again was trying to manage finances properly. Billy came back and in an act of spite sacked anyone who he felt was disloyal following his previous sacking. These were football people who knew how things worked. Hence not playing taxes, bills to suppliers etc. Debt is just numbers on a spreadsheet (up to a certain point) a good accountant can make those numbers say what they want.

If this isn't correct, what's the alternative, Fawaz is genuinely skint, incompetant or both?

No Southern, as has been pointed out on here many times. It's only "banter" when it comes our way.
Do it the other way, or on your board, it's "trolling" and the axe will be out.
Ask Es***. As daft as he is, he's totally harmless. Yet he was hung/drawn/quartered on your board for far less.

However you or I put it, we appear to have spent similar amounts, you are in breach of FFP, we are not.

Surely it's because we have used the 'system' more effectively than you or our turnover is much higher than yours?

I think it's a combination of both as we sell more tickets and earn more from off field activities such as sponsorship, but not enough I would of thought to cover our spending splurge.

You can't blame us all for our over zealous mods tricky!
