    Megson Regrets Bolton Reign Due to 'Horrendous' Fans...

    Gary Megson says his tenure at Bolton was 'horrendous' and he regretted taking the job as manager due to the abuse he received from the club's supporters.

    Megson was appointed Wanderers boss in October 2007, after leaving Leicester City to fill the void left by Sammy Lee's departure following a difficult start to the Premier League campaign.

    He was sacked in December 2009, with the Trotters placed 18th in the top-flight, and after being asked to look back at his time at the Reebok Stadium, Megson said the sour relationship with fans made the job nigh on impossible.

    "I didn't pick the team, I wasn't involved, but I actually signed for Bolton on the day they played Braga and I got booed coming out of the tunnel," Megson told Sheffield Live TV. "The honeymoon period was just non-existent.
