Working my way through Stuart McBride's Detective Sergeant McRae series, on book four 'Blind Eye'. Interesting insight to what life is really like up there in Aberdeen, think I may have to cancel my season ticket as the place is more dangerous than I realised.

Currently about a 1/3 of the way through "The Longest Day" by Cornelius Ryan. An older book, but an absolutely fantastic read so far!

    Vas

Stephen Pearcys book is just a Rock N Roll excess story, you know the maths- f@cking n drugs n rocking. You will have read a similar book at some point in your life. He was quite the swordsman.

The Primus book was great. Spoken word history type book. Great read

Currently reading 'Map of a Nation - a biography of the Ordnance Survey' by Rachel Hewitt. Was an impulse purchase with a Waterstones voucher my ma got me for Christmas, but it's a lovely book really.

Once you get past the whole part about mapping Scotland to make it easier to pacify the Jacobite hoardes, that is.

Blasted Conn Iggulden's 5 book series on Genghis Khan [Conquerer series] before Christmas. Enjoyed it so much I am now on the second book of the Julius Caesar version [Emperor series].

Iggulden is an excellent historical fiction writer, would thoroughly recommend these books.
