Yep, they were great days. A gig every week, all nighters at Dafter Friday, upstairs in the Garage, the occasional trip to the art school, even though it was full of brown leather jacket wearing @rseholes trying to convince themselves they actually enjoy Northern Soul (nobody does) & winching posh weegie burds who all sported the Pulp t-shirt mini skirt, tights & sannies combo

I married one of those burds.

The indie club vid is spot on For me the damage was done with Verves 3rd album. Horrendous & got bams into indie music.

Thanks and I agree about the Verve. The bams that were into happy hardcore all of a sudden moved in on indie music. There's a few boys I went to school with always posting on Facebook that they are off to see Shed Seven or Cast. Same boys that were wearing DP jumpers long after Shed Seven had been and gone.

Urban Hymns was definitely the end of Brit Pop.

Ive never met anyone who likes Elastica and that's cos they where fkng garbage.

I fell asleep standing up watching Elastica at T in the Park in 1995 or 1996. From the little I heard of them, they just ripped other bands off and didn't bother trying to mask it...

Can’t recommend it enough, he’s one bitter, bitter b’stard. Funny with it though. Particularly like the bit about Oasis & Blur going for number one, while he’s trying to release a concept album on 1970s West German terrorists
