Reports on Sunday suggest Charlton Athletic are exploring the possibility of signing Liam Feeney from Championship relegation rivals Bolton.

Feeney is out of contract at the end of the season and with Wanderers unable to open talks over a new deal due to their ongoing financial struggles, Addicks boss Jose Riga is looking to test their resolve by making a cash offer during the January transfer window.

After a brief loan spell with the Trotters in 2013, Feeney made the move permanent the following summer by joining on a free transfer from Millwall.

He has impressed in a struggling side this campaign, scoring four goals and assisting a further five, and is the only player to have featured in every game.
