When did the Police Horses disappear?

I seem to recall that throughout the sixties and possibly into the early seventies that there would be a couple of mounted police horses by the turnstiles at the Railway End. I used to cross the railway bridge to get into the kop, through the turnstiles by the supporters club hut. At the entrance a couple of benign horses would always be present and often one of these was white. Can anyone remember when they disappeared?
Once you had got through the turnstiles the next hazard was to overcome, by a quick leap, the river of urine running down from the gents toilet, which was a wall, without a modesty screen. Those were the days, when there would be twenty thousand people on the kop alone for a big match.

Must have been when we demolished the old stadium ,because that bridge was then closed I think,
Also at the same time some of our lot took the debris from our cursed ground and took it to vile park and through it into the foundations of something they were building cant remember what part t but it does seem to be working
