Thread: THAT Ref.

    THAT Ref.

FF deserved the second yellow against Preston, even though the first shouldn't have stood as he was fouled...He knew he was on it, therefore the second was a silly thing to do.....Fast forward to last night's game...Here we had an inept joke of a referee who tried to make a for himself by sending off a player with recent history..and who'd wound him up, so was gunning for...It mattered not that Michael Dawson not only had a face like a naughty schoolboy, and acknowledged it by raising his arm...The ref simply couldn't and wouldn't see him, because here was his 10 seconds of fame...He was ten feet from the incident, and it was clear as day...FF plays with a youthful exuberance, and does go down theatrically, like many these days..but a foul is a foul...Like the clear one on Nuhiu..not given...Snodgrass' s antics also....CC is a class act, and dealt with it all superbly...Steve Bruce deserves a mention too.....The ref in question should be refereeing park football for the next mont

This type of incident has been happening for some time, with no reaction from the rule makers. If the avoidance of 'bringing the game into disrepute' means anything, then even though it is an awkward challenge, it shouldn't be swept under the carpet.
I don't think wholesale rule change is necessary.....just need a process to cover it.

It's obvious to everyone the standard of refereeing is dropping fast. Some refs are as well known (for their cra*pness) as a decent footballer.....can't be good for the game.

Once you start listening to the people who watch matches - firstly you get a feel for what supporters (observers of the game) regard as a fair solution - secondly you're presented with some ideas on how you might deal with it.

Spot on Bluestripe, the standard has been poor for a while now and it cannot be just our team that suffers, I don't think enough was made of the poor reffing standard in the game against Shrewsbury this effort by the Shrewsbury defender in the final minutes in their box was scandalously waved on, you have to wonder if there are some serious bungs being taken especially after this season.

    Spot the ball???
