    Arbroath 0-1 Clyde

A much better team performance than of late, I think we deserved to take something from the game but when you are on a bad run you never seem to get that little bit of luck.

Fleming was my man of the match for some amazing stops from what looked like certain goals BUT every clearance he made was a high ball up the park and was won in the air by that senior citizen Marvin Andrews. In fact every high ball into the Clyde box was won my Andrews. When we played the ball on the ground we looked the better side, just didn't do it often enough. Thought both sending offs were little harsh although the Clyde one was more deserved than Little's.

Hester almost scored shortly after coming on, replacing Greg Rutherford, his shot from a narrow angle hitting the post before being cleared. Other than that shot we hardly troubled the Clyde keeper who should have been booked for blatant time wasting.

London had another good game, both Williams and Henry played well and Ramsey had his best game

Better performance than last Saturday and Tuesday night = YES.
Did we deserve to lose today = NO.
Could have we played for another few hours and still not score = YES.
Did the excellent Fleming pull off more outstanding saves than their keeper = YES.
Without Rutherford are we powder puff up front = YES.
Is scoring zilch goals in 3 consecutive home games at Gayfield a record = MUST BE,
Was OAP Marvin Andrews (who some Red Lichties fans have been slagging off for a least 6 seasons) ever stretched = NO.
Did Marvin win every high ball in the air = YES.
Did we ever play the ball to feet to Hester to turn Marvin = NO.

Felt sorry for the players today as we never deserved to lose but to be honest we never looked like winning either and as soon as they scored nearly every fan around me were resigned that we were beaten again.
We played pretty possession football but we have no cutting edge in the box.
Rutherford made a difference as he is decent in the air and has a bit of strengt

Simply not good enough one up front simply not working! . Didn't,t deserve to lose but lose we did AGAIN Agree best for us was FLEM, Lowden, Bobby and Rutherford, get these signed up now !!. That's season almost done and dusted now unless we go on a decent run but on the last three weeks not looking likely. By the way Big Marv was immense again admittedly on ground not too clever but knows his limitations but in the air what a powerhouse. Time for Todd and Hislop to go me thinks, wonder if Barry Robson fancies a part time player\manager position surely not signing another year at Dons???

No doubt Lumsden will come out with the hard luck stories again but the stark fact is we have played 3 home games against crap opposition and failed to score a single goal.
There have been several great balls across the opposition box but they all go abegging.
Loser Lumsden did say something sensible for once in that it is not fair to task the likes of Hester with leading our attack but whose fault is that? His! It's his responsibility to assemble the squad and in that aspect too he is a complete failure.
Again I ask, what is he still at the Club? There are previous managers with much better records than Loser who must be wondering why they were punted when that clown is kept on.

Some good thing on display from Lichties but -

Tactics - why persist with high balls today when we rarely won one.

Commitment - Clyde won every 50 50 ball. Rarely get 100 % commitment in 50-50s from loan players but whole team held back.

Loan players -as above and we remember the commitment the loans had under Weir so why have them unless cheaper than signings.

Deserved to get beat - our keeper had a few class saves to keep the score down whilst theirs had none.

Leader on the park - Clyde had their keeper we had no-one.

Manager - assume he will be on £15k + per year and with over a year of contract to run he will be expensive to sack plus assistant. If there are performance targets in contract perhaps he could go with no compensation if he fails to make them. I would assume that reaching play-off would be one of targets, or perhaps higher.

Fortress Gayfield is again crumbling into dust.

    From hospitality
" who was your man of the match" no answer.

" we are now looking over our shoulder at teams below us so who's to blame, your tactics or the players?" No answer.

"The high ball ball to the strikers" no answer

Todd Lumsdens glass is half full, everyone else is half empty, so, one point after three home games and no goals scored, in my honest opinion this is by far the worst fourth tear in Scottish football Iv witnessed, can someone please act before we slip into oblivion?

Similar to Tuesday, we played the better football, made plenty of chances, but failed to find the net. The tactics of getting Loudon and Wilson up the wings worked well but the final ball and lack of a natural striker really let us down. Rutherford looked a bit short of fitness and tried hard but is not finding the net with any regularity. We desperately need a Doris type penalty box player.

That's what is wrong though! We have a manager who isn't capable of thinking outside the box ( and yes even the 18 yard one). Why leave Stewart sitting on the bench as he is; tall, a good header of a ball, can score goals, and has energy, so in the last 15 mins why not try him up top or even God forbid alongside Hester with 2 proper up top players. The other obvious choice for someone that we know can find the net is why not take a chance toward the end of a game with Bobby LInn in the box. Our top scorer who CLyde had all been told to show him inside onto his felt foot, and block off any chance of him going in behind. He might just have converted one of the lower crosses at any rate. Lumsden should have been aware and can surely remember when Montrose came for the New Year game in the previous season loaded with Animal Andrews. He physically bullied our players into submission ( in fact in the case of Lowdon, assaulted him for want of a better word). You will win nothing with high ba

Completely agree that the league is wide open for any side going on a run, but with recent results it unfortunately wont be us. Still IMO Lumsden has made the same mistakes as his predecessor Moore in bringing in young players with potential but no real incentive to drive us to the higher reaches of the league as they wont be with us next season anyway. With attendances dwindling, there is a strong possibility that the budget for next season will be reduced. The need for a real "man manager" with a proven track record is IMO essential. Is that man Lumsden? The supporters views seem to be pretty conclusive , but will the board heed them?

Agree this is the worst standard of lowest Scottish League i can remember.
You usually get an outstanding team in the league but every team is of similar standard with maybe Elgin being the best because of their strikers.
In the last 7 days we have played 3 very poor teams at home and got ONE point and ZERO goals!!
The only 3 Red Lichtie fans i know who make excuses for the poor form and stick up for the Management team are SL/LL/TL but surely even they must see there is not light at the end of the tunnel.
