No matter how frustrating England get I just cant help watching them in major tournaments and lets hope Rooney is proper injured for the Euros then we can play in form strikers

Come on England lets have it this time

It doesn't seem to make much difference whether Rooney plays or not

I used to watch England when we had proper players like Matthews, Carter and Finney.

I was reading a football book and it had this story in, Nat Lofhouse was asked who was the better player Tom Finney or Stanley Mathews? At an international match at Wembley Fiinney was on the left wing, Mathews was on the right wing and Lofthouse was centre forward. Mathews jinked down the right wing and beat the left back and crossed for Lofthouse to head in the first goal, Lofthouse then looked towards Mathews and clapped him. Shortly afterwards Finney raced down the left wing and crossed the ball for Lofthouse to head in England's second goal, Lofthouse then looked towards Finney and clapped him before giving him the thumbs up. After the match ended a furious Mathews asked Lofthouse why he didn't give him the thumbs up as he did to Finney, Lofthouse replied.."when I headed in Toms cross the laces where facing away from my forehead unlike your cross".
