    Burnden Park Disaster

Perhaps it's common knowledge but I don't recall ever hearing about this disaster 70 years ago when things were obviously very different than today. - view external link

Have to admit I'd not heard of this before.
Was it Burnden park where a building next to the stadium caught fire and the match played on? Mid 80s?

It was in 1946, a crowd crush incident similar to Ibrox and Hillsborough.

So maybe not too different than today where South Yorks Police now make crushes of their own by holding back fans in a confined space.

The incident on Millmoor Lane v Swansea wasn't too dissimilar only on a matter of scale and daft use of police horses by......yes South Yorkshires finest.
