If this had happened 3 months ago, as it should have, we would not been in our present position. You can only blame the former regime for this, many of whom are still involved at Board level.
Bolton Wanderers have confirmed VAT and PAYE tax bills amounting to more than £3million have been settled with HM Revenue & Customs.
Wanderers were issued with a winding-up petition in December and have appeared at the High Court in London on three separate occasions, facing a very real threat of liquidation.
Their most recent appearance, on March 7, was adjourned, with a judge warning the club that they were on their final warning and had to clear the balance ahead of next Monday's hearing.
Following a takeover by Sports Shield and Inner Circle, headed by former Trotters player Dean Holdsworth, the club have now confirmed all outstanding payments have been made to HMRC and they expect the winding-up petition against their to be lifted when they return to court.
A statement, posted on the club's official website, read: "Bolton Wanderers can announce that the club has today, Thursday 17 March, settled all overdue payments with HMRC.
"As a result Bolton Wanderers now

Let's hope the clowns still there at board level never get to make a football decision ever again!
Well actually ALL the former regime sans Gartside are present as far as I know; and Davies is still there to drain resources, an dpretend he has been our saviour !
Big thing now is what happens on Monday.
It wasn't just a matter fo the debt owed to HMRC, it was the fact that we were to all intents and purposes insolvent and minus a workable business plan to boot.
If they are not satisfied that such a business plan is in place with resources to back it up, we may still be wound up.
Let's keep out fingers crossed guys.
