    O/T Another Beer Thread

Too lazy to look for the other bl oody thread.

Anyway, last night after a couple of glasses of Chardonnay and a very excellent Margarita stopped off at a small beer place here in York Pennsylvania. Not a bar, not a restaurant, a kind of mini beer warehouse really, consumed two of these babies and went down with all hands!

Expected it to taste like an Barley Wine at 11%, but it was smooth and sweet and deadly. Eve, ya gotta try it mate.

Down in London at the weekend and found a great boozer in Kennington called The Old Red Lion. They had a draught beer on called "Moor Ale". The first one went down a treat; lovely and refreshing, I felt like Bobby Moore running out for the World Cup Final in '66. After a couple I couldn't control my eyebrows and my voice deepened and slurred like Roger Moore's. Another one and I was corpsing and giggling helplessly like Dudley Moore. After the fifth I was seeing stars like Patrick Moore. When the old bag behind the bar started looking like Demi Moore I decided I'd had enough and left. Nice pint though.

You should have reached for the sky and had another. You would have ended up like Kenneth More.

It's Oberon season here in the midwest. Oberon Day in March, when they release the first batches of the seasonal beer for the year, is practically a state holiday here in Michigan. Can't wait til the mini-kegs appear at my local liquor store.

It reminds me of a bar I went to a couple weeks ago. My friend and I had a long weekend so we drove around the coast of Michigan. We stopped in a bar in Metz, Michigan (population 331 people). It was where his dad grew up. We went to the local bar that his grandfather would take his dad. All the kids would share a bottle of Coca-Cola while dad drank all night. One man only ordered 40 oz beers. He said, "My doctor says I need to cut my drinking down to two beers a day. I decided to make them count."

Cant we have a thread about Lager instead, which is a much better pint than Bitter/Ale!!
Ive always preferred a freezing cold pint of quality lager myself, rather than a warm room temperatue pint of Bishops boll*ock Ale, or whatever its called
