To be honest, if it has to be done on a budget, I can't think of anyone better.
Michael Appleton is doing well
I reckon a lot of it is pure chance, anyway. This idea that there is some kind of formula that makes a manager successful is completely undermined by the patchy records of virtually every man who gets mentioned.
Arsenal fans are even trying to get rid of Wenger, for God's sake! OK - he's a miserable b*gger at times, but I feel total admiration for the way he has stuck to his principles about how football should be played.
Sorry, Saxo, but yes... I would watch one of Wenger's teams over one of Sam's at any time time. I wonder if he would be interested in moving to Ewood!
Incidentally, we constantly talk about men. Isn't it about time a woman was given a chance? It would bring a different dynamic to the whole thing and maybe a woman would be less inclined to spout the stereotyped garbage that we hear from most of them.
What about SydneyGirl? Are you busy at the moment, Jeannie?

We all assumed that we were standing still because GB was simply too cautious and couldn't move us forward. All it needed, we believed, was someone more dynamic who could lick the players into shape, and make them more consistent.
Whoops... is that egg I can see running down our faces?
Perhaps we should have appointed Madam Cynthia, with thigh-high boots and a whip. Come to think of it, she couldn't have done much worse.
