Their confidence must be at the other end of the scale from ours.
Still...1-1.
Another proud moment for the rovers scrapbook as we not only lose but that arrogant prat best will score and celebrate like he has won the world cup.
2-1 loss
Their confidence must be at the other end of the scale from ours.
Still...1-1.
Rotherham 3 Rovers 1
An uncaring demotivated rovers 0 Rotherham 2
they became uncaring and demotivated a very long time back. Anyone who travelled to Ipswich (in the midweek!!!!!) will tell you that! it was a disgusting performance from players and manager alike. That was the week after the manager went public and said most of them will be released in the summer.
A nail biting 1-0 home win and Rovers narrowly missiing out on..
pretty much nothing really !
It's the 'chicken or egg' connundrum for me : was it the statement that made them not care, or was the the statement because of the lack ??? (Rightly or wrongly).Originally Posted by champs95
It's interesting, as many have/had voiced this concern on these very pages, plus in praising PL for not being anybodies yes man and in telling it for what it is.
And yet once he does and things begin to, or increase to, wobble it's a case of he should not have said that.
On the other hand if he doesn't he's too much of a GB ???
Just my own personal view, but I personally like things out in the open and things being confronted.
PL , just like SA, is just not cut out to
I accept all that, Despair, but it doesn't explain his puzzling decisions on the playing side.
I'm happy with him to speak his mind about the failings of the Club's infrastructure, but what was the purpose of open criticism of his team on a day when he had made five changes, including some players who were introduced during the warm-up?
Quite agree Aucks, it may well have been part of the agenda, he's a footy manager after all!
However, are many of the squad (evidenced by the observing support) a 'little low' on endeavour/ commitment ?
Are Venkys managing things well as custodians of the club ?
Have we a 'Structure' in place at the club that befits a modern day football club ?
These are uncomfortable truths.
Yes PL has disappointed, and yes on the face of it it is a cowardly 'cut and run'.
But we are now heading into our sixth year of their 'empire', and ALL previous history points to it not being a simple one sided issue.
They have been stupidly, obstinately naive in the extreme, and have been digging this enormous hole since day one.
If they had just taken a step back and maybe a humble pill or two when John Williams instructed them on the 'why's and wherefores', I truly believe we could well have been still hanging on in there in the Prem. With their wealth and his acumen it could have been a very goo
No winners!
