The referee was: CE Faultless (good for a referee).

I remember Charlie Faultless: let me assure you that he did not live up to his. He was probably one of the worst referees around at that time. I remember him scoring against us at Palmerston. He was standing in our penalty area: the ball was kicked towards him: and tried to jump over the ball but merely deflected it into the net.

Really? He's the referee in quite a few programmes I have from that time.

years old this year so Proudy what age were you when you saw him at Palmerston ?
