A little snippet which I heard from someone who should know, that the next manager has been identified, it will surprise most people (he will not be any of those mentioned) and whatever happens this season Wassall will not be appointed on a permanent basis.

Derby County is one of the top twenty clubs in the country and will not have a problem finding a new manager of some substance and reputation and I have long felt that a manager had been identified and that it would be a waiting game. There are many good managers out there and the end of season merry go round is about to kick off. Martinez is under pressure at Everton and he would seem to me to be just the person but who knows what will happen. Mourinho is also out of work.......

I've heard entirely the opposite and so much so that the person that told me has put £100 on DW to be Derby manager on Aug 1st at 7/1.
