There is a chance of that, yes. It will take the NKS group to be very determined and have a wedge of cash (legal fees) to keep it going. Whether the Westhill Young Team that turned up on Monday have the will to part with large chunks of their pension cash is the question.
"Mind the boy that had all the appeals against the AWPR going ahead? What is the chance one of te Nimbies will do something similar to sabotage the plans with delays and the like."
I dont think it cost that boy a penny, all his appeals were paid for from the public purse.
"deranged football fans" - you dropped the pretence that you are a football fan now... good. At last.
They were ALL nimby's - that's why. Every last one of them.
All dressed up in babble - all shot to threads by the councillors. By the end, they got so bored of the nimby's they stopped even bothering making them look stupid by asking questions.
If that is the best you westhilliers have got then you don't stand a chance.
It's a pity that what would have been a healthy debate on here about the pro's and con's of Kingsford has been ruined by a westhill nimby.
I did. Stop focusing on the idiots. There were a few that made good, well read and legally sound points that meant the councillors can only approve it through the whole 'greater interest of the region'. That's why the club are doing the Aurora campaign and gave entirely emotional arguments. If you know where to look you can see Aberdeenshire are still very against it and if they indicate to the city council they'd refuse things it relies on to make it undeliverable... If it is approved, as others have said it will be delayed for who knows how long.
Nothing wrong with that. It's the only reason and probably should be the only reason they approve it. Why else would you allow someone to build a big stadium?
It may have made the incompetent chairman lazy but the public interest arguement should be sound, it would be anywhere else. Problem is the locals don't appreciate Aberdeen Football Club.
Probably would allow one if it complied with any planning policies and had great transport links accessible through a variety of means, with a large catchment area and footfall for the surrounding local businesses.
A drive-to stadium with everything onsite is in nobody's interest but AFC. It's totally against what the council want to do with the city centre and couldn't benefit them any less.
Funny how people picked up on such ludicrous arguments like terrorism but not sh!t like the RGU head saying it would attract people to university in Aberdeen. Just as desperate things from the yes camp but blinkers on.
Milne, finally realising how pathetic the transport plan is, has had to come out and change the discussion to we'll sort it oot eventually.
