No its not.
Scotland tops the European League for attendance per capita at 0.21%
Even taking into account Aberdeenshire, our population is circa 491,190.
A 0.21% of population would mean a crowd of 10,315.
As we average more than that, we are certainly in the top half of best supported clubs in Scotland (per capita) in the best supported league (per capita) in Europe.
Something wrong with your maths there min.
1% of 491190 is 4912, so 0.21% is roughly a 5th of that, or about 980 fans total.
What you've worked out is 2.1%
Even so, given those numbers it shows that we are, this season at least, attracting 12-15 times the current attendance per capita for the rest of Scotland.
I think folk need to stop getting upset about this and getting into arguments. The one thing we all have in common is that we want whats best for the club, regardless of how we think we can achieve it.
The only thing that does stick in my throat are those that say they will stop going to games. If it is genuinely going to be an inconvenience getting to games, then by all means i understand that, but some folk seem to be wanting to do it out of spite. I have traveled in from the Peterhead area all my life to get to games and even when i have been as far away as Glasgow, i have come back to Aberdeen to watch games. My point is that if you support the club, nothing will stop you getting to games, unless it is actually impossible/expensive to do so. For me, it doesnt matter where we play as long as its an Aberdeen team on the park. I have the fondest memories of Pittodrie, buts not going to ruin my affiliation if we move.
I will try not make any more points on the subject until a decision has been made by the council... not long to wait now!
In that case why do we need a 20k seater stadium. Bit of overkill is it not
