Well this is about the what - 8th attempt at this new stadium thing going back to early 1999 (last century) they all failed financially.
It would seem (not having access to exact figures) that with the main local industry caught amidst a global crisis and money tight for all sorts of spending purposes suddenly this stadium thing succeeding at the 9th attempt when financial risks have never been greater in 2016 you don't have to be Carol Vorderman to work out maybe on a sliding scale of estimation it wont go ahead.
AND even if it does it will go ahead on debt - that the club should be avoiding.
Yet you get folk coming on here advocating 'haying a pish' in this guys back garden and sending him a '****e in the post' just because this bloke doesn't want the stadium in Kingswells where he lives. Why would this bloke want a stadium in Westhill/Kingswells? Come to think of it why the hell would any good minded Aberdeen fan want there club to get massively into debt or want a stadium in Kingswells in the first place? Its the middle of nowhere!!!!!.
What that the club should be avoiding debt? What is it you don't understand?
The stadium will not be paid for by a mysterious big massive flapping winged pelican flying over Pittodrie and dropping money into the centre circle.
After the past 15-20 years of struggling to finance a debt, then arranging a pence in the pound deal with the bank to cancel the debt, I don't see any banks falling over themselves to lend to the club anyway. So it's more likely that it'll have to be funded by other means.
Regardless, I was more referring to the comment about the stadium being in Kingswells/Westhill. It is not. You then contradict yourself by saying that it's in the middle of nowhere. Which is it?
The proposed stadium is in Kingswells/Westhill area so I believe? To those of us brought up in the centre of Aberdeen in 80's this part of the city is basically Tcheuterville and the countryside.
When may dad was a lad Westhill/Kingswells was a farm full of cow sh*te.
None the less I have elderly relatives in Westhill/Kingswells and certainly would not want them subjected to AFC matchday. Kingswells/Westhill is a residential area.
Its certainly highly inappropriate for a football stadium.
Come to think of it - 'other means £££' is that the big flappy pelican with a huge beak that will flyover Pittodrie with the money? Because that is about how pie in the sky the finances are.
