I thought the stadium was supposed to be finished in 2019, why is it now 2020?

Never mind that, capital is the one thing omitted from that statement (which doesn't actually say much) and that remains the biggest question that hasn't been answered.

To be fair there probably isn't a great deal of support for the stadium among the residents of Westhill. A fairly middle class / upmarket place the locals are more into poovey sports like golf and rugby. Unless you are a Dons supporter or the owner of the Broadtstraiks or Westhill Hotel you wouldn't be in favour of having a great big football ground plunked on your doorstep would you. It wouldn't benefit you at all and would bring with it a few negatives however minor.

Westhill is full of the type of 'middle-class' that grew up in Mastrick, Hilton, Northfield, etc. Got a decent job in ile and could afford a nice new house in the middle of a field. Mair and mair hooses got built around it - nae problem. Big Tesco - nae problem. Oil company offices - crack on. Bypass - lovely! Football supporters - can't have that now can we, this is greenbelt land you know...

They bump their gums about greenebelt, parking, traffic, noise, light pollution, etc. but we all know that the only thing they're really, truly worried about is house prices. And all the evidence to date shows that having a top-level stadium nearby is good for house prices.

Can't we just build the f.ucking thing and if anyone complains apply for planning retrospectively? What's the worst that can happen , we have to tear it down ? The appeals etc could take years and by that time the locals might actually like it. Possibly.
GSITGN campaign ! ( get shovels in the ground now ).
