There will always be folk who will be upset that their match day rituals will be affected by the move - that's understandable. However, once you have lived in a large city the quibbling over the location of a stadium in Aberdeen seems a bit silly. When I was still living in Aberdeen and had a season ticket I would walk from the far end of Union Grove to Pittodrie on match days (about a 45 minute walk - seemed reasonable given that I walked to Aberdeen uni most days). Not saying that I would expect everyone to do that but just emphasising that Aberdeen is a small place. The move will affect some folk more than others and I wouldn't expect everyone to embrace the change but ultimately it won't make a huge difference to the vast majority of people in terms of being able to attend games.

Make no mistake the reason Saltire were so keen to 'donate' some tax-deductable revenue for this trip to Dubai was not to 'give the boys some sun and train hard'. it was organised by them as Saltire, AFC and other oil partners are working on getting stadium rights sold off to a mid-east company to pay for new venture.
