Foster 6/10 BUT he was the sort of player we need right now. a warrior.

Chandler 6/10 looked a world beater until he bottled it at Bolton

ACE - 9/10 just that - the ace in the pack - one of our top 5 players in the last 30 years

Barker 6/10 - never convinced - others may disagree.

Foster was in a poor side, a very poor side but did show some leadership, Chandler was great when he arrived and ironically put a MOTM performance in against Bolton early that season. Asanovic was one of the most naturally gifted players I've ever seen in a Derby shirt. He also stood out among Europes best at Euro 96 which says something. Mistaram sums Barker up nicely.

re: DID YOU RATE THESE PLAYERS? GEORGE FOSTER, JEFF CHANDLER, ASA ASANOVIC,

I know this is long BUT Foster was originally a prolific striker turned centre half - in his last 400 games for various league clubs he never scored another goal.

This week fans' favourite George Foster is the player under the spotlight for the Where Are They Now series.

GEORGE FOSTER - Born 26th September 1956 Plymouth, Devon.

George started his football career as a striker. He was a prolific goalscorer and became the youngest player to be selected for Plymouth Schoolboys.
He was soon signed up as an apprentice at Argyle and at only fif**** was given his chance in the reserve team making his Combination League debut on 12th August 1972, although Argyle lost 2-1 to Reading at home, George managed to make it a goalscoring debut.
He scored again the following Saturday in his second game, unfortunately Argyle lost 3-1 at Swindon.
By the time he reached his six****th birthday George had played against the reserve teams of Division 1 giants, ****nal, Spurs and Chelsea.

Aljosa Asanovic, another absolute gem signed by Jimmy Smith (with a bit of help from Igor). A truly gifted elegant player who probably would have made the team sheet in any PL team at the time. It was so good watching the Rams then, even though it only lasted a few seasons.

Just watched a few of his touches and movement on you tube - effortless......type of player you would pay EXTRA to watch....they dont come along that often.

re: DID YOU RATE THESE PLAYERS? GEORGE FOSTER, JEFF CHANDLER, ASA ASANOVIC,

Asanovic was in my top five favourite players. For a short period he was literally world class and could have played for any of the so called big four.

Chandler was a tricky winger, with a turn of pace but once you got into him he wasn't as effective. I remember when we turned Lincoln and Crewe over in a few the space of a few weeks scoring 12 and he was at the heart of everything.

Foster was a steady eddy for me, but always seemed to give 100%

Strange three players to pick out but some great memories. Like asking about Dean Saunders, Steve Buckley and Richard Gaulooze.

    Cheers for now
