    Hi Johnny,

Yes the meeting took place near the end of August. Someone from the council is now going to write up a report for it to go to the next meeting of the council common good committee. They anticipate there will be one more meeting of that committee before Christmas.

    Hope that helps.

I'm sorry guys but there's not a chance you'll get a seat on the board at Palmerston with the Trust . The Chairman is not in the slightest bit interested . It's pretty much a closed shop unless you can put in a hell of a lot of money . If he accepted a trust member what's to stop a member of each of the other supporter groups wanting on ? The Barflies for example contribute £10,000 a season to Queens

In the meantime , Queens will quite gladly take any money from you without much in return

    Hi Basher,

I guess we will just have to see what happens.

The Trust meets the minimum shareholding required to be a director which is 250. I do not think any other group meets this level of shareholding. The Trust currently has 924 shares which I think makes it the 17th largest shareholder out of over 800 shareholders in the club.

The Trust has also been given support in its quest from 3 other supporter groups. In total a combined membership of over 450 members. This does not include the support from other groups who do not have an annual membership.

I would estimate the financial input from those groups and members might be in excess of £100,000 a year.

It is one of the main aims and objectives of the Trust. We have a duty to our members to try. We tried four years ago and we were told by the directors that they were not against it but not at present so we are now trying again.

Another Queens supporters group has today given it's backing to the Trust.

That is now 5 supporters groups joined together in support of supporter representation with a combined membership of over 500 members.

Is there any chance a meeting could be set up to discuss issues?

A meeting has already taken place with the Trust, the Councillors representing the Common Good Committee and the Queens Chairman. However this was prior to the support given to the Trust from the 4 other large supporter groups.

The council look like they will be meeting in early January to decide whether or not to support the Trusts resolution for adding to the Queens AGM.

In April 2011 the Board of Directors issued a Statement on the official Queens site which included the following:

'We have continued dialogue with the reinvigorated Queen of the South Supporters Trust on an ongoing basis since March and fully intend to continue to do so productively moving forward. If it is felt advantageous in time for a Trust representative to join the Board of Directors we will certainly not prevent it.'

We now have 5 of the biggest supporter groups, with a combined membership of over 500 members, in favour of it.
