Summer Fixtures

Apologies if this info is elsewhere on the forum but I'm wondering about the likelihood of any friendlies in advance of our League Cup group fixtures. Also wondering about the draw and fixture dates for the Challenge Cup. Anyone know?

I can't help you with info re friendlies, sorry.

As for the Challenge Cup, I've read somewhere that the first two rounds are the first two midweeks of August. By some accounts it's going to involve a mish-mash of the usual teams plus Premiership U20s and 2 Welsh and 2 Irish teams in there as well. Exact details are still to be forthcoming, perhaps once a sponsor has been acquired.

Wickipedia is not always accurate but it currently states the first round of the Challenge Cup will be played in July and 32
teams are entered - the Scottish League 30 plus Cove Rangers and Edinburgh City though there are 4 or 5 threads on the prospect of Irish, Welsh, top 4 in Highland and Lowland Leagues entering if you Google Scottish Football Challenge Cup

Cheers. I'm guessing that with the Saturday League Cup fixtures in July running right up to the start of the league fixtures on 6 August we're either looking at the Challenge Cup on a Saturday in August or, maybe more likely being squeezed into midweek.
