    A British team

Instead of Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England does anyone think having one team called Great Britain would be a good idea ?
I know we had it at the Olympics a few years back but that's not a World Cup or the Euros.
My views are that I wouldn't like it at all. I love seeing Scotland win and do enjoy watching the other three nations play.
I just hope and pray that I see Scotland in another major tournament before I pop my clogs. We are always so near yet so far.
If we had a British team then I would at least see some Scottish players play at a tournament. But thinking about it what Scottish player would be picked for a Britsh team ? That's another question.
Ramsey, Allen and Bale from Wales, Davis and Lafferty from N Ireland. I'm struggling to think of a Scottish player just now

Harsh truth is there are no Scottish players good enough, as has been painfully exposed over the recent years. My worry is - what young players are coming through the ranks? In my youth(!!) kids were always out playing fitba - in school playgrounds, in parks and fields after school or during holidays - I don't see much of that now. Are today's kids now a generation of couch-potatoes, or parked up behind a computer screen?

I agree Ian. When I was young I was never without a football. I played in the back garden, in the park and even on the street. I just loved it. There is a park out the back of my house just now and I can honestly say I never see kids playing football. As you say they are parked up behind a computer screen or the television playing games on their consoles. It's sad but true. I don't know what the answer is to get them out playing football again but as we can see just now our game is suffering big time. Wales are lucky they have one of the best players in the world just now along with a few very good players around him. You never know we might have that luck in the future, hopefully I will see it

Davis plays at a high standard in a good team and Lafferty scored seven goals in N Ireland qualifying. Not many players scored more in qualifying than him

Maybe Gordon,McGregor or Marshall,IMO all three are probably better than Joe Hart.

Certainly not much between all them keepers. Hart is definitely overrated although he is a good keeper. Foster is better than him imo.
All three Scottish keepers you have mentioned there are all excellent and we have another young up and coming keeper Bain who plays for Dundee. Come to think of it we are pretty well covered in that department. Makes a change from years ago when we were ridiculed for our keepers which was a bit unfair imo.
