He wasn't satisfied in shooting her twice, he then pulled out a knife and stabbed her.

Absolutely Nez. I'm sure the fact there is so much media plays a part in it but whereas years ago horrendous acts/crimes seemed to come to the fore months or years apart, now we see reports of them daily.

An appalling act, a mother with a young family, a caring person who'd worked in some of the world's most dangerous places only to be murdered on the streets of her home town. Sincere condolences to her family and friends. RIP.
