I disagree with a delay, because of Covid-19.

Surely, it is better for both the UK and the EU to sort out their respective recoveries, whilst properly separated. Otherwise a half in, half out UK would be possibly entitled to help and/or contribute to the EU recovery programme. This would also hinder the the UK's independent ability to sort out its own recovery programme

Correct. You can hardly sort out your own recovery plan, when you still have your hands tied. That and also the fact you also have to cough up more billions to the EU master recovery plan in the empire.

No, I believe a deal will be done, but that means piling the pressure on.
We've tried the softly, nicey way with May. It got us no where but a pile of misery.
They need this sorting as well.
The EU would love an extension. It keeps their hopes alive/ money coming in/ time to cohearse the tempo their way.
Jobs are going to be at a premium soon. Our kids stand a real chance of ending up on the scrap heap unless free movement is curbed. The chancellor has just unveiled a £2 b kick start scheme for 16- 24 year olds.
Their jobless figures for youngsters around the Mediterranean has been horrendous. That's a helluvva carrot.

Unless a leaver says, we need a rethink, no one will trust any of you.
Delay, delay, delay has always been a tactic and used for over 3 years.
It could have been sorted 2 years ago, but for you dummy spitters.

Well at least Andy and Ram provided sensible, reasoned and non personal responses. I may disagree with the latter but that’s not the point.

On a slightly different note...looking at the Government’s current inability to reach agreement about something as straightforward as wearing masks in public/shops - Bumble, Gove and the Justice Secretary giving three different answers - I’m amazed anyone has confidence in them to manage something as complex as the Brexit withdrawal.

Just out of interest, MA...what are the rules on masks in Holland?

Wearing of masks should be made compulsory at all times in pubs and restaurants....

    ...you forgot dentists!

Mind you...I think dentists have forgotten dentists too. My March appointment which was, understandably, shifted to August has just been cancelled again. Worryingly dentists (well mine at least) originally went into ‘lockdown’ about a week before the government acted.
