As the new season kicks off albeit at a late change of venue it is time to take stock of the health of the Queens. We have been through the usual close season, but apparently inevitable, turmoil of established players moving on or out as the case may be with replacements coming in or youngsters being promoted within and getting their opportunity in the spotlight along with the appointment of Skelton as the new First Team Coach. The pre-season friendlies have appeared to have been fairly successful although as usual, and regardless of the quality of the opposition, it is difficult to fully evaluate the squads potential on this basis alone. Most spectators have expressed satisfaction as to the high pressing game Queens have employed which we certainly lacked through large periods of last season’s campaign. I for one am really looking forward to seeing this mixture of experienced players liberally sprinkled with some very promising youth and I think that it is in everyone’s interest and especially the clubs to fully back the team and give them your full support in what will be a very competitive and exciting league in the coming season. So enough of the pessimism, that can permeate through this site from certain individuals, and think of that glass being half full rather than empty.
